This phone is a great deal when bought used. It has the great design and build typical of HTC phones and feels great in the hand. It does a fine job at most tasks but performance does not measure up to the best mid-tier phones in speed and camera quality. I bought it for my mom, who never had a smartphone in her life. It's a perfect choice for her because she appreciates the relatively small size and lightweight, and she will not be a "power user."

This is a pretty solid phone a notch below the M9. It has a fingerprint reader that works pretty well, a vivid display, snappy performance, etc. My only real complaint is that its battery life isn't as good as my last phone, the HTC One m7. If you are a power user I seriously doubt you will make it through the day on a single charge -- you'll have to charge it midday. However, the charging rate is pretty fast, somewhat mitigating the issue.

The phone has a beautiful, premium feeling design. It's pretty snappy and runs really smoothly. I saw more hiccups and lag from my S7 Edge than from this. If you play graphic intensive games or anything, though, it'll take a good long while to load those kinds of things up, but once they're up they run fine. If you like customization you'll have fun with this. HTC's theme store has a lot of options, and almost all of it is free. You can get pretty granular about the look and feel of the software experience. Battery life is this phones Achilles heel, but it charges really fast. It gets from dead to full in a little over an hour, so keep a charger around and you'll be fine. The camera is enough to get the job done. It can take some good pictures, especially with HDR on. But, if you're coming from an iPhone or a Galaxy you'll probably be disappointed with the camera. The screen is bright, colorful and sharp. It looks really good. The minutia are fine. Call quality and connectivity are pretty good, audio from the headphone jack is great, but the external speakers are weak. No issues like overheating or anything like that so far. Really good, reliable phone. If you pay less than $250 for it I think you'll find its a great value. I certainly did.Read full review

This phone was a great replacement for my S5 Sport. It has lots of nice useful features and the current version of Android, it works with Android Pay and it has a great contacts/ phone book app. The only downfall is the native messaging app. I remedied that by simply downloading Messenger by Android and it worked flawless. As a replacement phone with not having to buy an expensive new phone. This is a great bet. Body is very slim and light as well.

I bought tho to replace an existing identical unit with a failing camera. This one works the same as the failing one, except the camera works well. I understand the failing camera MAY be the result of using a case with a magnetic closure strap. That seems reasonable considering I see where others have used "balancing magnets" to compensate.
