  • What a nice dose of Great MUSIC!

these two CDs on one disc is the best that could happen for this artist. It is filled with a who's who of music for its heyday. It's bluesy, earthy, funky and Rock! Jesse Ed Davis Pioneer the sound that would permeate The Rock genres that defined and influenced the music and bands such as the Allman Brothers Band. I may be late to the party but I didn't miss the dance! I absolutely love this collection of spirited tunes! He started a sound that became so obvious and songs of the 60s and morphed into a bit of psychedelia! Sadly Jesse Ed Davis no longer walks or breathes among us. But we have Testament of his passion for music with these two recordings.

Like too many other albums I had in the 70's & 80's, I wound up selling these in a moment of mindlessness. *It's a 2-albums on one CD title. Jesse Ed Davis died too young and after listening to this, you'll understand that even if you weren't aware of him before, you missed someone special. Snaky, sinuous guitar, sharp tone and almost liquid, biting slide playing are the hallmarks of his talent. These albums aren't up to his early work with Taj Mahal or John Trudell, but they give you a glimpse at the genius of his playing. He's got a thin voice, but a few listens illustrate the emotional load it carries with it. They also give you a hint of the attitude of "the big party" that characterized the musical attitude back then, and probably ...

  • takes me back

Takes me back. I remember this from the 70s. Great to hear it again. I wonder what he's up to now.
