Product Information
The first commercial expansion for Gearbox Software's fast-paced first-person shooter/role-playing game hybrid adds new missions, game modes, and dangerous enemies. As in the original main game, players can choose one of four character archetypes, including the powerful berserker, the accurate hunter, the tricky siren, and the well-rounded soldier. As they gain experience, characters can be further specialized with a selection of custom upgrades, under an RPG-like development system. Single-player adventure is supported, but the game's main thrust remains on internet-connected, small-squad, multiplayer combat. The add-on pack features two new areas, both designed and presented in the futuristic, dystopian, tongue-in-cheek style of the original game. The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is a small-town, open-world environment where players can work together to fend off undead denizens using the firearms of their choice, many of which are available from conveniently located Jakobs Brand vending machines. Mad Moxxi's Underdome is a special arena where human-controlled characters can fight to the death for fame and treasure.
