    Tremendous treatment of a tough subject

    When I was a student in Bible college, I stumbled upon several volumes of the "Bible Commentary For Laymen" in the college book store. I was attracted to them by the one dollar price tag, but I soon learned that this was an exception to the rule that "you get what you pay for." This series of books--most of which are out of print--are fabulous! Some of the great names of Christian preaching and writing, including John MacArthur, Stuart Briscoe, Donald Grey Barnhouse, and Ray Stedman, bring their unique gifts to these basic commentaries. I really like them because they are written for laymen; you don't need a Master's Degree from a seminary to understand them! If you find a book in this series, buy it!
