NBA Street hits the concrete for an encore presentation of 2001's acclaimed arcade-style basketball game. New features include the addition of legendary greats, such as Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Bill Walton, Jerry West, and Wilt Chamberlain, to go along with the lineup of urban playmakers and modern NBA stars. Over 150 players are available in total, each offering signature-style moves and individual ratings in various attributes. The action is as decidedly over-the-top as the original, with high-flying dunks and trick moves like the "Pass Out" or "Off the Heezay" performed by launching into the air like a rocket and/or passing the ball off the backboard or even off an opponent's head.<br><br>Returning elements from 2001's game include Trick Points, Gamebreakers (which now offer a second level of power), and street-savvy commentary from fictional character Joe "The Show" Jackson. Outdoor courts include real-life urban venues from around the United States, such as New York's Soul in the Hole and Oakland's Mosswood, while animated onlookers witness the antics from nearby benches or along chainlink fences. NBA Street Vol. 2 also supports four players instead of the original's two, and includes a Create-a-Baller mode so players can create their own athlete and have him develop new moves over time. Love this game since my middle school days.
I used to rent this game at Blockbuster back when I was a kid and I used to play it for the PS2 at my friend’s house and I’m glad that I finally owe my own copy of this game. Thank you very much! The only problem is I wish I had the instruction booklet for this game.

The game started great but about 3 mins into gameplay the system was unable to read the disc because of the number of scratches on the back. System works fine with my other GameCube disc. Is what it is not mad just disappointed. Used equipment always carries a risk

This is a great game for the casually curious about sports titles. Absent is the stifling depth and content of an actual basketball simulation experience, and in its place is a focus on rollicking fun, simple yet satisfying strategies, and grin-busting showmanship. Common basketball maneuvers such as blocking and stealing on the defensive side, and passing and shooting on offense, can be simple to execute (and basic in execution) as a single button tap, or they can be performed with varying degrees of lavishness and agility, depending on the agility of your fingers on the controller. Cons: Just one: The commentator spews endless heavily slangy remarks that are amazing in their depth of dullness. No worries, slide the voice volume bar down in the options menu to let the overshadowed ... This is a great game for the casually curious about sports titles. A great arcade style basketball game
Heres my reveiw, I hope it helps you with what your looking for. Game play-9 The game play is great! I have not played any other Street games in the series for Gamecube but I am a fan of the series. I have played Street Volume 1 for PS2 and I loved it. So when I friend brought his Gamecube over we played. I whooped him first time I played. I only played a gamecube once or twice before that and had no idea how to play. But the game was too easy to NOT mess up it was funny. I could spend hours playing this game. Though I say that the truth is that I could spend hours playing this game but probley all not a single given time. I love this game, though I don’t know about you but I can't play a sports basketball game that long. I see myself playing Madden for hours and hours and hours but the ... And usually that makes me give it a 9.5 or less. I like to stick to basic scoring though as much as I can so this game gets a 9. Like I said above when my friend brought this game over with his Gamecube then I thought I'd give it a go. WOW! This game is great. I was throwing tricks down left and right. You couldn't stop me. I beat him and I haven’t even played this game before! So that proves how easy it is to pick up a controller and play this game. Also it takes a little common sense from anybody who has played a sports game on any system before. I mean if you think that you move with the big red button in the middle or something like that then don’t even think about playing a game ever again. Let me use the PS2 controller for a better example sense I'm more familiar with that gaming system. If you think you would move your player with the right analog stick and shoot with the directional pad and juke with the left analog stick then you've got another thing coming buddy. Though seriously you should have no problem picking up a controller and playing this game. Graphics- 8 The graphics are great for Vol. 2. NO complaints. I write a lot of late review like I've written review for MLB 2K5 after MLB 2K6 has come out, and for this game I'm writing this review after NBA Street Volume 3 has come out. I heard that game was great and that EA Sports put A LOT of detail into the graphics. I have not played any other street games at all besides this game and NBA Street Vol. 1 for PS2. So I wouldn't know if the graphics in Vol. 3 are good. Though I've heard that there great, and even though you cant believe everything you hear I believe it. I suggest that you check out Vol. 3 before Vol. 2 if you have the chance. But if you have a chance to play/buy this game cheap then do it! Overall- 8.25 A VERY CLOSE 9! I couldn't give this game a 9; as a matter of fact I couldn't even give this game an 8.5. Just because I haven’t played any other NBA Street games for the Gamecube system. If I had I could give you a better look on the game compared to previous years. Though sense I haven’t, I don’t want to over judge the game. Though what I basically tell you by an 8.25, as an overall is that you should really get out and buy this game! I could say rent yea, but this game is pretty cheap used and you should buy it.

As good as ever!
Yep, I'm just as good as ever at this game. Lol. But seriously this game is I'm the best of the series and by that I mean the entire street series (nfl, fifa, etc.) It has all the best moves, NBA players and returning as well as new street legends. Played this so much that the old school hip hop soundtrack is forever stuck in my head. Thumbs Way Up!
