I received the Q9650 processor that I ordered. It was on time, packaged well and when I installed it, it booted right up and improved the performance of my vintage HP 8000 Elite computer. I am happy with the purchase.

Installed this cpu to extend performance of an older but still needed system. Well worth the investment for speed and performance. If your motherboard will support this cpu then it is a great upgrade.

This quad core is awesome I decided to upgrade as I had an old build that was a great build at the time over 8 years old. I no longer game but I had an old e6750 that was clearly showing its years, in terms of struggling with playing 1080p and kodi. So I decided to upgrade since the q9650 was the top of the line for the 775's. and for 40 bucks give or take for a chip with original msrp of 500 bucks it was a steal. This q9650 is a beast, handles video's in any form, in my case struggle a bit with 4k but then again I have an ancient ati 3850 video card with 512 mb of ram, so the cpu is doing all the heavy lifting. Other than that 1440p runs perfect on an old ddr2 machine. Kodi no longer stalls out! Can't wait to get a new video card and oc the q9650 to see what it can really do! Don't hesitate to upgrade its well worth it.Read full review

Core 2 Quads are discontinued but paired with a good Video Card they can still game anything except Games that Require AVX instruction set for CPUs. Nor Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassins Creed Odyssey or Apex Legends. Will run Fortnite, will run COD Black Ops 3 & Infinite Warfare, The Witcher 3, Rainbow Six (with a good video card).

The Q9650 runs at 3.0 GHz default on a 333 MHz FSB. It only takes a motherboard that can do 400 MHz FSB and there you go, 3.6 GHz, close to i5 performance for around 35 euros. I'm using mine with 4 GB DDR2 ram and a GTX 650ti boost and playing many recent games at 1080p medium settings.

My Dell XPS 360i had a Intel core 2 duo. Recommended processor for American Truck Simulator is a Intel core 2 Quad. Greatly improved the performance of the game. No problems with this upgrade. Temps good. Also upgraded to the recommended video card.

This processor maxxed out my ASUS P41G motherboard. I had an E6xxx series dual core duo in the slot which was OK for office work, but weak for gaming. This Q9650 3GHz quad core opens up the bottle neck that created issues with some 3D games. Smooth as glass now. Worked/recognized by the motherboard, instantly a perfect match, and runs cool.

This processor is great for an older computer if you don't want to go out and by a new one. Runs everything well that I'm using it for. Install was also very easy.
