Call of Duty 3 utilizes the same identical gameplay as Call of Duty 2. If you like part 2, I would definetely add this to your buy list for Christmas. Let me break this down to categories:- 1. Graphics - 4.5 of 5 - Good eye candy game with lots of explosion everywhere. Video games players would appreciate the details put into the game. 2. Sound -4 of 5 - We all remember the loud and realistic sound from Call of DUty 2 right? Well, guess what? It is the same here with bigger explosions and more things flying around left and right. 3. Replay value 4 of 5 - After beating the single player mode, you can head on to the multiplayer mode and challenge a couple of people. Definetely a plus. 4. 1 player Campaign - 4 of 5 - Your team isn't totally smart. Same bug as part 2. There are acts where your teamates would just keep running into the mp-40 and get gunned down like sausages. Other than that, the occasional cover fire is there to help you advance. The vast majority of the campaign requires you to single handledly gun down nazis with your guns. Sometimes it feels like you goto solo. Dont expect your A.I. too help you out too much. 5. Multiplayer - 5 of 5 - The high point of this game. Get a live subscription and let the killing begin. 6. Difficulty - 4 of 5 - It is not that hard. Just take it slow and play with the same strategies you used in Call of Duty 2 and you should be able to beat this game in 10-12 hours of gameplay. 7 Overall 4 of 5 - A good game to own. A definetely a must have game for the World War video games advocate. It has gorgeous grahipcs, amazing sound as always, and the multiplayer is definetely a plus to give this one a must buy for christmas.Read full review

Here is my opinion for Call of Duty 3. The Good: The graphics seems a little bit more polished. I like the wavy grass when you are running through the field. It also seems they tried to add a little more realism with the screen going a little blurry when there are a lot of explosions and bullets flying around you. Even when trying to get the achievements on Veteran difficulty, you bullets are very effective. The FG42 will kill with 1 shot. There is also an improvement of your squad members. They don't always wait for you to make the first move. Many will storm ahead of you often to help identify where enemies are. The Bad: FIRST AND FOREMOST IS THE CHECKPOINT SYSTEM. Even though you get to the checkpoints, it doesn't save every time as in previous CODs. You have have a good run but get killed and find your self having to do everything all over again. Its frustrating to see your squad members and enemies stand toe to toe, empty a full clip and nobody gets killed. You enter a room with your squad members have stormed into 5 seconds ahead and when you walk in, a guy in plain sight with his back turned to you turns around and shoots you. Your squad members try to shoot through the wall and don't realize they aren't helping the cause. The enemy notices you from 100 feet away with his back towards you and you didn't fire a single shot. There are some situations where the enemy is dug in and no matter how careful you are, you will be shot and killed without seeing who did it. Chapter 8 "We have the cross the road". You will hear this A LOT!!!!!!! (see checkpoint complaint) There are times when you shoot an enemy who is hiding behind a tree or stair rail and no matter how many time you shoot him, he will not die because your bullets hit the tree, even if he sticks his head out to see where you are. You aren't able to jump over or you get stuck simple things that shouldn't be any problem when trying to get away from grenades and bombs. Even getting out of trenches becomes a problem. In the end, COD 3 is worth playing.Read full review
Pros + Gorgeous, slick visuals with nice detail. + Trademark 'Call of Duty' small part of a big war action. + Realistic weapons & improved sniping & better tank driving than the previous installment. + Intense gameplay througout the whole game. Cons - No co-op. - No real improvements over 'Call of Duty 2' except for some new multiplayer stuff like being able to sprint. - Lots of glitches that make the game almost unplayable on harder difficulties like the CPU always knowing where you are & useless teammates. - Useless mini-games that attempt to break up boredem within the game like close quarters combat (visually cool though) & bomb planting. - Shortage of checkpoints. Comments There aren't many improvements to the series but there are quite a few more glitches. These glitches are usually obvious & frustrating to deal with. You will also get tired of playing levels over on harder difficulties because checkpoints are so rare during big battles. Driving still needs some work & the series needs to break away from the traditional 1st person shooter by allowing you to take cover or sprint. Sprinting is available in multiplayer but never in the campaign. But getting shot trying to peak around corners gets old, especially when the enemy can hit you with blind fire. This is still a solid game though & plenty of intense Nazi-fighting fun. Verdict Fun WWII game. Not a must have but if you are a fan don't pass it up.Read full review
Now your probably wondering how could Call of Duty 3 possibly be all that different then the last one and granted the story mode and gameplay are pretty much unchanged, but the graphics look smoother and the multiplayer is much better. There are now more classes in the multiplayer like medic, anti-armor, support gunner etc. and now you can even drive tanks, trucks and motorcycles. The same modes apply as the last one accept now there is a more strategic version of Capture the flag which is fun. Like I said the story mode is nothing much to talk about, but I cant blame game makers for making the same story again and again because if the changed things it would be historically unaccurate. You get to play as the U.S and Britain as always but now you get to play as the Canadians and Polish aswell. The multiplayer is worth the buy here especially if you have xbox live although it does take a long time to get a match sometimes, the campaign mode is really just an add on.Read full review
