    It's a simple, effective switch

Delivered on time. All accessories (power converter) were included. The switch looked almost brand new. I had downloaded and reviewed the user manual from on-line before I plugged it in. I did not use the power-on lan cable test feature because all my cables are good. The switch correctly identified devices as 10, 100, or gigabit. I moved the five cables to all of the different ports to ensure they all worked. No problems. The switch runs cool to the touch. No complaints and I would buy from this vendor again.

  • D-Link DGS 2208 Desktop Switch

I needed a gigabit switch to upgrade a small office network with several linux/mac workstations, VOIP phone system, and an IP-based security system, which uses Verizon Business-class FIOS as the ISP. The D-Link DGS 2208 works perfectly as a plug-and-play switch connected to the Verizon wired/wireless router. The Verizon router has four wired 10/100/1000 ports, and I connect a DGS 2208 switch to three of these ports. This configuration allows one port/switch to handle my workstations, the second port/switch to handle my VOIP phone network, and the third port/switch to handle my security/fire-protection system. The fourth router port is connected directly to a Web server in a DMZ zone. The DGS 2208 required no special setup, just plug it in and it works. Network throughput within and across ...

  • D-Link Model DGS2208 Gigabit 8-Port Switch

D-Link makes a Excellent 8-port Gigabit Switch for home use ,light industrial ,or small office. The switch has excellent throughput and work's very well to run 10 / 100 /1000 (gigabit) device's networked together and used after your router,(or connected to your router for device expansion). You can have more than one speed active, (example one device at 100mps and another at 1000mbs,both at the same time with no problems. The switches 8K MAC address table is a plus for a 8-port switch. The switch is also 'green' by turning off the ports not be used and has low power usage. Hope This Help's and Thank's for reading!

  • Great Little Gigabit Switch

This is the third 2208 in my network. They are great little inexpensive gigabit switches that have helped make my home network hum along nicely. While I wish these were manageable, I would have to spend at least triple the money to get features I would rarely use. You don't need expensive Cat6 cabling to get the advantage of gigabit speeds, either. You only need good quality Cat5e and shorter runs, which in most home networks, especially my pre-wired environment, is pretty much the case anyway. You won't believe how much snappier copying video files, for instance, is over a GigE network versus your standard Fast Ethernet 100Mbit network. Even though I spend more time on my wireless laptop for general every day use, I have PC's, servers, DVR's and the wireless access points connected to the ...

  • Excellent Gigabit Switch

We have a number of D-Link switches in this family of products, and they have all served us very well. This product line is not the latest and most current offered by D-Link, but I wanted to buy this unit from eBay to keep all units the same. This product has eight ports and each port can be 100 or 1,000 Mbps, with pilot lights that show activity and link speed. This unit has enough weight to stay in place even with all ports and power cable connected. Many of the newer devices are so light-weight that they won't stay flat and won't stay in place. It runs cool and has worked flawlessly. I highly recommend this product family if you can still find it.
