    Great high-end entry level camera. Versatile, easy to use, great quality.

    Bought this camera primarily for the 24x zoom lens feature. I wanted to upgrade my equipment and hopefully my capabilities. Previous camera was a Kodak Z812 IS which was a great camera but the Lumix has a higher resolution and higher optical zoom factor. The photos taken with the Lumix are awesome, and the zoom is amazing. It has most of the standard "bells & whistles" that a camera in this price range has. The "steady shot" feature works great, and it takes great quality HD video. There's a lot to learn with this camera to take full advantage of it, but right out of the box using "automatic" settings it takes great quality photos. There's two things that are somewhat annoying to me. First, the flash does not automatically pop up when needed as it does on my Kodak. Instead, it prompts you ...

    I am quite pleased in general.

    I have been using point and shoot cameras since my Nikon film camera became obsolete about 10 years ago. I have been considering the purchase of a digital SLR ever since. A friend recommended the Panasonic DMC line of cameras. I have been using this DMC FZ-47 for about a month. I have been very pleased with the clarity of the photos and the abundance of features. Several weeks ago I used the camera to photograph waterfalls and mushrooms on a hike under a dense tree canopy on a cloudy day. I was pleased to be able to slow the shutter down enough to get a streaked effect in the waterfalls, but was not able to get as close as I had hoped for macro photography. Most of my mushroom shots were out of focus. I used the continuous shooting feature at my granddaughter's soccer tournament, ...

    Best digital camera I ever owned.

    Just returned from a weeks vacation, first time we got to use the camera. Took tons of pic's....camera is fantastic, the quality, easy to use features are all top notch. I have had 2 digital cameras before this one, and this is far and away the best I have ever had. Oh yeah...the 24X zoom feature is really, really great.

    Lightweight and simple

    I use this mostly for point and shoot. The settings took a little practice to use but provide for a variety of picture modes with just a twist of the top control. I use mostly the basic auto setting with good general results. Its a nice vacation camera; easy to carry, good battery life and the 24x zoom is nice too.
