Well researched. It's required reading for layman and professional. It shows the relation between music, math, physics, computer software, and artificial intelligence. Don't let the math equations and graph figures stop you from reading the book. I find volume 1 more exciting than Volume 2 which has mostly math.

  • Far from a quick and easy read, but full of new and intriguing ideas about music and mathematics, together.

Everyone interested in current ideas regarding the relationships between music and mathematics will find something interesting in this book. It is technical, and difficult to grasp immediately. It is also expensive, so be sure you want some dense information to plough through before you buy this book. But if your mathematics and computer-science skills are such that you can get a lot out of it, it is fascinating, and has not been widely discussed.
