Initial impressions were good.
I was pleased to find a red dot sight that easily fits in a CC holster. The dot is bright and easy to see. The aperture is small and for me takes a moment acquire the target. I'm sure with a bit of practice it will be fine. The installation went well and all of the tools necessary to install were included in the package. On my S&W I did have to find a small Allen wrench to remove the old iron sight. I did have a sight pusher tool. Too small for an everyday carry unless you practice significantly and then don't drop it!!
I removed the rear site on my S&W Shield and installed the Leupold DeltaPoint Micro in the rear dovetail. Several issues appear compared to a regular Micro or Regular Size Red dot. First, you cannot field strip or remove the slide without removing the rear battery cover. Not hard to do at all. Second, the size of the glass is so small it makes target acquisition very difficult. I have had it now on my Shield for about a year. I have gotten used to finding the red dot, but it requires alot of practice and as such, I would not recommend to someone new to red dot optics for that reason alone. Finally, it did not pass the drop test. i accidently dropped the entire holster and gun from about 3 feet and it damaged the red dot eyepiece. It didn't break the glass, but it could NOT ... Cool red dot solution. Very low profile.
I like the low profile configuration. You do have to remove the rear site which was hard to push off. Putting the Leupold site on was very easy. Removal of battery cover allows slide removal when necessary for cleaning.
