Being an avid hunter, backpacker and camper, I purchased Mr. Gatty's book to try and learn more about finding my way in the outdoors. The book is a wealth of information. One surprising point, at least to me, that Mr. Gatty makes is that people's legs are not of equal length and this is the main cause for people walking in circles. He not only tells you what can cause you to become lost, but also what to do to help overcome these causes. If you enjoy being in the outdoors or boating/ sailing then you should try to locate a copy of this book. You probably already have books, in your library, on emergency survival, but with this book and the information it contains you hopefully will not have to use this survival information.
