The picture and part item provided were incorrect. The item sold was a vehicle snorkel and airbox, sold together as a kit. What arrived was the snorkel, filter for the airbox, but no airbox. The seller ghosted my follow-up messages. Pictures were initially provided but the items were in plastic bags. All in all, this transaction seemed to be in bad faith. Hopefully the seller is just unavailable and will get back to me.

Good product concept, poor execution by Lionel
Pro's good features and details. Cons: track does not hold together, magnets not strong enough. MagneLock track is not functional. With ddc, the connections kept dropping out. Had to use other track. Rails came off ties which lead to buying other non Lionel track. Observation car not durable, came apart. Glue joints did not have enough adhesive to bond pieces together solidly, car came apart and had to be repaired. Liked the concept but the execution of design and manufacturing of the product was sub par. Not up to expectations of Lionel standards, especially track. The track is defective.
The train itself is spectacular. The concept of the magnetic track is great but it doesn’t work. It clicks together but it leaves bumps between segments that cause derailments on almost every trip around the oval. Also some segments of track don’t seem to conduct electricity at all. The train is excellent and reliable though. Just plan on replacing the track.

Runs well. Sound is impressive. Only negative: locomotive number (1225) was not stamped on one side of cab. I purchased this primarily because it is unclear whether Lionel is still producing this in HO scale.
