    premium!

    this is my first premium AVR, having owned a beginner then an intermediate AVR prior. the SR6014 makes my existing 5.1.2 system really come alive, powerful and clean! setup was a breeze. i'm actually pretty satisfied with initial Audyssey calibration but may invest in the app if i upgrade speakers. unfortunately, i do have a hiccup with passing 4K HDR video through it from the Apple TV4K, PS4 Pro, and UHD Blu-ray player, which appears to be an EDID "handshaking" issue where Marantz support said an EDID emulator might be needed. while i have certified 4K HDR HDMI cables and have tried using a name-brand's 8K HDR HDMI cables without success, i plan to try other cables, which will come out less than an EDID emulator. somewhat upsetting given the SR6014's pricepoint...

    Big upgrade over entry level sony

    Replaced a Sony 770 that I thought sounded good. Not to put down Sony but this Marantz blows it away! Musical ability is outstanding and surround sound even without Atmos content is clear and well separated! Great choice for my needs!👍

    Great music quality.

    This receiver offers better sound than any other receiver I have owned (there have been several high end receivers). You do have to use your tv or a monitor to program everything but many complex receivers do that too. I was told by a big box store that Marantz offers the best music quality and I believe it. They have had a long time quality reputation.
