I specifically purchased a Starrett caliper because I wanted a US made product. Turns out these are made in China. The parent company is Starrett, out of New England somewhere, but their "manufacturing facilities" are in Brazil and China. The calipers come from China. VERY disappointing! However, the quality seems top-notch, it's a good piece of equipment, accurate and reliable, looks good and for a good price.
