    Love it But.....

It does what it is advertised but I am in a area that all I can get is cellular 4g service. This model is discontinued and the feature I need it to do most is join a wireless network. Which this particular model will not do. I read that I could purchase a wireless bridge. Then plug the ethernet in. I personally am pretty tech saavy and if I was going to go that route I would have found a more cost effective way of doing it by purchasing a different device. But I have to say even this old discontinued item is full of features that are valid today and innovative and ahead of their time when it was new. I very much recommend this device it just will not work for me.

  • big tomato mbr

Compared with the more popular linksys, not quite as speedy but drops coonection much less. If you have a sigle core and 1gig memory you may suffer both effects more. Typical is 0.7mb per sec on single core intell. This mb has a fast processor and gets slowed down by older pentims, strangely giving it EVDO firsy priority nearly doubles wan upload test. Proabably because the best applucation of this is using the EVDO expresscard slot. It has two usb jacks as well but the novelty is that WAN is not the only input option so if toy dont have dsl or wireless broadband you can get internet via any cell phone company if you fall onside their 3g roaming or standard areas and be continuously connected without dialup. The N distance enhanced capability may be becoming harder to get access to, ...

  • A GREAT router to get if you want Wi-Fi in your house

We got this router because we had more than one computer in the house and sharing our mobile broadband was not an option. We got the MBR-900 and that worked OK but it did not have enough range to cover 1 story, and 4000+ sq. ft. We upgraded to the 1000 and that worked alot better, but needed a little bit more range to cover the whole house. The simple solution to this was to buy an inexpensive "normal" router and hardwire it to the MBR-1000 (the router we used is 5+ years old!), and now I got a full signal anywhere in the house! I think this router would work excellent in a smaller house, but the MBR-1000 seemed to works as a good "booster" to any router that is hardwired to, I would recommend a router with extended range if one has to by a router and does not have an existing one ...

  • Oldie but Goodie!

This router is an oldie but goody! Cradlepoint is probably the best router maker out there. It is reliable, and has features that even new ones still don't have. The price was good and the shipping quick. I even got a spare for parts, which I have used. Thank you.

  • Good for use with unlimited data plan, but puts out weak signal.

I purchased this router to use with my AT&T usb Velocity modem. My intentions were to utilize it to make my whole home wifi capable as it is a smaller house; roughly 1100 square feet. Unfortunately, I found out very quickly the cradlepoint doesn't put out a strong enough signal for that. For its signal to be picked up in the next room I had to place it high on a wall in front of the doorway in a perfect line of sight for the devices I wanted to connect to it with( a Wii console & a blue ray player). It would not work through walls or even furniture at 25 feet from the devices. So, after moving furniture around, running power cords across the room and up the wall, it worked. I'm not happy with where it had to be placed to be used in just two rooms, but, on the upside it is very secure ...
