Great sheath
This is a basic leather sheath for full sized (7" blade) Ka-Bar knives. Like most everything made by Ka-Bar it's of very good quality. This is a great replacement sheath for any of the full sized knives, but they also make & sell branch specific & even Dog's Head replacement sheaths. If you've never served, but still want to own a traditional Ka-Bar then I recommend getting this sheath at the same time as you buy your Ka-Bar. Each traditional Ka-Bar comes branch specific & this is a great way to carry your knife without getting asked all of the time where you served or if you care about wearing a branch insignia without having served. usmc Kabar leather sheath.
This sheath is of good quality and appears to be equal to the original that I have. The add depicts the sheath embossed with the Marine Corps emblem like the original but the product sent me was not so embossed. The vender offered to let me return it but as it is a Christmas gift I elected to keep it. They should revise their add to remove the Emblem and I asked them to do so.

Ka Bar knife sheath.
This Ka Bar knife sheath is of a very high quality. I found the cut and stitching to be uniform, strong and even. The leather quality is very high, with the tanning process leaving the leather supple yet re-assuringly strong. The press-stud clip holds the knife handle perfectly with absolutely zero play when fastened. As a matter of fact i was so impressed with this sheath i decided to use it to carry my Randall Made 1-7 Fighting knife (leaving the original Randall sheath in the safe). As a Big Game hunting guide based in Northern Territory in Australia and a person who uses sheath knives for a living i have no hesitation at all in recommending this piece of gear for the safe carry of any fine cutlery. Perfect for for old hickory 7" butcher mod.
I did a OKC old hickory 7" butcher knife with real reclaimed whiskey barrel handles. I make sheath all the time,but this screamed cowboys and leather! Perfect for for the knife. Even the snap is in the right spot. I imagine it would be even better on a Kabar knife lol. Up next, a little hand embelleshmet or custom stamping for the buyer! Highly recommended for both old hickory 7 inch butcher's as well as the kabar it was meant for.
