Jolly good experience purchasing "FOLKS" - a fun movie ya'll should see.
"Folks" is difficult to find on dvd, and when you do find it it is too expensive. The movie is great though. For some reason I only like Tom Selleck when he does NOT have a mustache! (I know, I know.) The great Don Ameche is fantastic in this. Christine Ebersole who plays Tom Selleck's sister 'Arlene' is fantastic. (As are her Legs!) If you watch her closely you see that she is an amazing actor. (She is best known for playing the Mom in 'Richie Rich' w/Macaully Culkin, the Mayor of WA in "Black Sheep" w/Chris Farley, and the lead role of 'Little Edie' in "Grey Gardens". (she was also a cast member of 'saturday night live' in '82) *Folks* is one of those movies that may come on tv and when you see it - you laugh out loud and say, "i forgot how hilarious this was!" I decided to purchase this item because my sister works in a nursing home, my girlfriend has taken care of a great-grandmother with Alzheimer's and her father who has had three severe strokes, I myself had taken care of the very elderly (over 100 years old) and elderly. Most of these individuals are now in Nursing Homes those who we are able to care for are living in their homes. We Love our grand-parents, parents, and have come close to many situations very similar to the character Tom Selleck intelligently characterized, although the elderly we have taken care of in the past did not purchase stock. My girlfriend and I watched this film because we had heard of the movie and never saw "Folks". Now we have and it is too real. "Folks" is a Classic. Some of us give up our careers, ... Some of us have to unplug the stove and of course grandma thinks the stove is broke, some of us have to allow grandpa to drive there and we drive back and while grand pa is driving there we are praying, getting lost is terrifying and grand pa is not able to understand why we have a map, respecting their independence but not allowing them to hurt themselves or someone else, however there are times we get hurt or maimed but we know it is not intentional nor on purpose. To all of those Physicians, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nurses Assistants, Home Health Care Workers, House Cleaning, Chefs, Cooks, Servers, Laundry Workers, Maintenance Persons, Social Workers, Anyone working with Elderly, Veterans, etc... You are all being prayed for and remembered every day. For those persons who are the bedside of the dying to comfort the elderly and any person who is dying. You are doing Works of Mercy and God Bless ALL of YOU. Thank You to the individual from whom I purchased "Folks".

I read the review and it looked good. I also watched the movie preview for it, but did not watch the movie. I just wrote this because i want ebay to stop reminding me that i have a couple reviews to write. This is a comedy about Alzheimer's Disease. I bought it for a postal worker friend of mine whom i made friends with from selling so many things on ebay. He asked me to to buy it for him since he is not so into using ebay. His father is begginning to suffer from Alzheimer's disease. My friend has a good sense of humor i believe, and he bought it for his folks.
