Whistler XTR-330 Radar Detector
"The XTR 330 is loaded with features the same as on much higher priced detectors. Excellent K band detection as much as a mile but more often 1/2 to 3/4 mile, Ka detection is a little weak 1/2 to 1/4 mile. I was very suprised that this detector is excellent on K band constant around curves 1/2 mile dtection. ka band performance can be increased by turning off POP mode. Overall you can expect 3/4 to 1/4 mile detection on both K and Ka bands with POP mode turned off (depending on obstructions), This is enough warning if you stay below 10 miles over the PSL. Note: turning off POP mode increased sensitivity which equals more flase alerts. If you live in an area where K band is most widely used this is all the detector you need. Best used mounted high and POP mode off. Get the hard wire kit ... "The XTR 330 is loaded with features the same as on much higher priced detectors. Great budget radar detector
This radar detector is best at catching KA and K band radar signals infront of the vehicle and has surprising forward range. This detector has often alerts to speed-clocking police vehicles with plenty of time to adjust speed if necessary in highway and city settings. Its short falls however are poor radar pick up around corners or from behind you but it is a super cheap radar detector so you can't really expect too much. False alarms are almost always X band which this little sucker can quiet X completely or lessen the pickup of X, plus the quiet button feature will quiet radar from the same source so if you are driving around with friends who also have radar detectors and you are picking theirs up (which hasn't happened with mine, it seems to do fine around other people's radar ... Last note, the parascoping lights are nice for noticability but annoying otherwise especially when a cop with his radar on is a car or two behind you, but you can always tape over them or remove them if you want. Over all, great budget detector, recommended for everyday drivers and occasional trouble makers :)
