    Great narrow heatsink for SuperMicro server motherboards

    Packaging is nice instructions are pretty thorough. I found it pretty easy to install the new brackets for my narrow socket installation. Keep the CPU running pretty cool. Can be a little noisy but it's not unbearable. Considering changing the fan at a later date. It's a 4 pin fan.

    True PWM controlled fan.

    Because of it variable speed, the fan can go from quiet and slow to Jet turbine loud when running at its fastest. The main job, which is to keep things cool, is done marvelously. It is also much smaller and compact than the 2U passive heat sinks also made by Supermicro.

    Lightweight and a bit noisy

    It keeps 22-core CPU's cool but it does whine a bit in a well ventilated case and in a cool room. In warmer environments with poorer ventilated cases, it may become quite loud.

    Loud fans, but a Noctua quiets it right down.

    The title says it all... The fans aren't very quiet, but they work. Some noctua 80x80x25 fans to replace those do the job, but the Noctuas must be run at 100% to keep the case fans from popping on full bore all the time. I haven't heard the case fans spin up once since I stalling these.
