    Perfect gift for a young child

    Many branded Lego sets are gorgeous but mainly suited for display once assembled. This one is highly playable. Built it with my 5-year-old in a couple of hours and he zooms it around the house all day long. Two separate cockpit hatches open and close, and the "solar array wings" (the things on the side) have flaps that move in four different areas. This is basically Vader's Tie Fighter from Episode IV, branded as "Star Wars Rebels". Warning: the little red lasers are spring-loaded, which is super fun, but be prepared to go hunting for those pieces when your kid loses them over and over again. Still: totally worth it.

    Best tie fighter to play with and a fun build

    Most Lego tie fighters are a simple build and still fun (who doesn't like flying around a tie fighter?). This one had a good mix of pieces to build (about 2 hours) and has lots of moving pieces. Fun stuff. The turn style laser shooter is cool too. Can't stop blasting stuff. Figurines are a nice addition even though this old school star wars guy doesn't know what the new character is. Anyway, good times for this 40 year old kid and my 6 year old. I'd buy it again.
