TIR within .002". Good 'nuff for the money. I wouldn't expect an "Albrecht style keyless" chuck to _have_ to be tightened with a wrench every time, or warranty is void... I have a real Albrecht and it just tightens by hand.

  • Keyless but with a wrench

I’m 73 years young, been toolmaking my entire life. I’ve had several “keyless” drill chucks in my career. Had given up on them and went back to my Jacobs 14N fortress. Then I saw this one with a wrench, not a key type but collet wrench I said that makes a lot of sense. Used it pretty hard in the first week and it’s held up perfectly. Even some 1”” holes in CRS which I’m sure is not recommended. Haven’t slipped on any holes drilled so far. That was always the mode of failure, drill slips and tears up drill or chuck jaws depositing metal flakes inside and jamming them up The collet wrench is fast. I usually just snug it up but not enough I can’t open the chuck by hand. Not sure how many other brands offer this but in my eyes it’s a winner

  • Quality and price = great value

First, this is not a keyless chuck. It uses a hook spanner instead of a geared key. It securely tightens down much better than a geared key. The fit and finish are excellent. Run out using a piece of ground drill rod checks out at under .001" well within the stated .002" spec. The chuck feels like a quality tool when turning the collar, there is no slop or gritty feel. This is a quality tool. It grips and does not slip. I really like this chuck. It includes the hook spanner in the box along with a warning sheet to make sure to use the spanner to tighten the chuck.

  • Quality for the money.

I use an Albrecht keyless chuck at work and the Tegera keyless chuck feels and works as good. The true test is will it stand up as well as the Albrecht, I will find out. But for right now I have to say it has performed very well after 7 hours of continuous use this past week.

  • Much better than expected

I was looking for a more precise keyless chuck than the cheap one that came with my sieg x2d mini mill. The runout was horrible. So I got this one hoping to get to under .004 runout instead of the .009 I was getting. To my very pleasant surprise, I put I’m my Mitutoyo indicator which is about 3” long and indicated if that off the bottom and got .0015 runout. You cannot ask for better at this price point.
