Shipping took more than a month (it shipped from Poland, NOT Germany) but I used the tool today on my R171 and it worked. It did not damage the carrier in any way and pushed out the old and pushed in the new. I had to use an impact on it, the threads did take a beating, but it still works and I suspect will continue to work. Be 100% sure to coat the threads before using, preferably with thick assembly lube (molybdenum disulfide). It took a beating, but it worked!
