About this product

Product Information

Until the very last moments of Joseph Ruben's spooky suspense thriller, viewers will question who's who in the us-versus-them conundrum. We have but one hint: "It's not about the children." But as local police, the feds, and other unknowns follow Telly (Julianne Moore), a young mother who refuses to forget the death of her 9-year-old son Sam, it's clear that the children are a hot-button issue. While it's fishy enough that nobody--not even Telly's own husband (Anthony Edwards)--seems to remember Sam, and the plane crash she claims killed him was never reported in the newspapers, it's a question of whose story to believe. And Moore, the frantic mother with madness flickering in her eyes, may simply be delusional, or so her shrink (Gary Sinise) says. But when she finds another grieving parent, Ash (Dominic West), whose daughter died in the same accident, she now has a partner in conspiracy theory. Together, Ash and Telly flee through the damp alleyways beneath the Brooklyn Bridge where steam escapes from potholes and police searchlights penetrate the gothic fog. Somebody knows something about the children, and "they" want Ash and Telly to forget. THE FORGOTTEN springs into an action-adventure race for the truth, with surprising special effects, exciting jolts, and bird's-eye camera shots on ominous geometric patterns in the urban landscape keeping this mystery in fifth gear.

    Good movie

Movie was entertaining and kept my attention. One of those movies you have to finish to find out what, when, why and how. I was disappointed in parts of it but ending was good.

  • Forget the Theatrical Version...

...if you view "The Forgotten." The rendition of this film that was chosen for theatrical release plays much like a long episode of the X-Files. Now, I 'liked' the X-Files, but I found this film's extended version with "alternate ending" (available on the CD) to be much more plausible & palatable. However, I guess it just wasn't flashy enough. American audiences prefer their aliens to be a bit more sinister. Gotta have that whole good guy vs. bad guy thing going, ya know? No ambiguities allowed. Julianne Moore stars as "Telly," and gives a wonderful performance, as usual. Supporting cast includes Gary Sinise, as her psychiatrist. Others include Alfre Woodard as a NYC cop whose character seems to have been left mostly on the cutting room floor. It's hard to write much about ...

  • Category: Science Fiction

This was a pretty good movie if you're into sci-fi drama. At first I didn't realize it was, but when the mystery of it all plays out to involve 'alien abductions' you get a better perspective of what type of movie you're really watching. It begins with tragedy but ends well...kinda predictable, but glad that it did end on a good note. I didn't like that it leaves several details unfinished regarding certain characters, especially the 'father figure', but he was pretty much written out early on anyway. Can't really give many more details because I'd give too much away if you haven't already seen it, but the plot is clever enough to be engaging and I'd say worth watching. As far as purchasing it, might want to rent it instead, unless you can get it for a really good price...

  • The Forgotten

I bought the cd ~ The Forgotten, because it is an excellent movie that keeps you always wondering about the underlying possibilities that can actually existing in and upon the real world. What our everyday perception would assume is the real world. What is really real, who actually controls our lives, our actions are freedoms and where they ever really solvent let alone viable? It almost seems like a kitten playing with a ball and yarn. Never really caring what comes of it or even worse how it got there to begin with, so excepting and engrossed in its play. Why are we always so excepting, of Elite Explanations... When did complacency to hierarchy become so easy In a World of higher learning, where think tanks take socialistic control to the brink of extinctions so long ...

  • Absolutely great... until the end.

This movie very skillfully builds up suspense. You become very emotionally involved with the character. In the end, the movie falls apart because neither the standard or directors ending offers a complete explanation. I personally find it cheesy that, to get rid of the helpful officer, she was sucked into the sky. The ending has too many holes. I only give it a 4 because of how strongly it started and continued to build. The end isn't a total letdown, but it does feel as if something was...forgotten.
