    Good Replacement for GE Brand Filter

    Pretty much the same filter as a GE one. Arrived quickly . Only a small snafu when lining up the new filter it took a few times to install, but works great .

    Makes a loud squealing noise

    These filters make a loud squealing noise. The part where you screw into your fridge is slightly different then the original ones from GE. I would have ordered original GE filters had I known. I don't recommend

    GE water filter

    This is a direct replacement for the OEM water filter. It does the job, and gets replaced when the indicator light on the fridge door say's it's time to replace the filter, which is usually 6 months. The price is RIGHT!!!

    What's not to like?

    It's easy to install and works great. The cost is less than 1/2 of the original filter for our refrigerator and it's rated at the same usable life. Assuming the usable life rating is factual when I change the first filter out and install the second one (I bought 2 of these) I will order two more. Just a suggestion, but I put the change date on the filter with a Sharpie marker so I know when it needs changed every time I open the door.
