Sylvia Parker is Senior Lecturer of Music at the Univ. Of Vermont, where she teaches piano and music theory. Ms. Parker performs frequently as piano soloist and ensemble player in Vermont, nationally and internationally. She has played numerous recitals and concertos of traditional repertory, and enjoys a special interest in music of the 20th c. and beyond. This noted special interest is brought to bear on Centaur's Peasant Jewels, a 2 CD compilation of solo piano music by Béla Bartók, recorded by Ms. Parker in January, 2014 at the Univ. Of Vermont Music Recital Hall.
