I have been a fan of New Age Music for a number of years, and followed its genesis in the late 70's and 80's with the masterful, and creative interpretations of classical music by Japanese musician Isao Tomita, and fine original compositions by Kitaro, and Vangelis, both of whom contributed to film scores and television documentary soundtracks with their own unique sounds. David Arkenstone came onto the scene in the early 1980's with his first release, A Valley in the Clouds, and another creative voice was heard from! Since then, he has come out with many releases which have earned him a place in the New Age Music firmament. What I enjoy most about his music is his ability to tell a story with music, if you have imagination enough to really listen and feel what he is trying to say. I also his usage of different musical instruments to tell that story, sometimes with guest artists as well as himself. Sometimes his music will transport you to faraway places and times, and the journey is always an interesting one! The music on this particular CD was a pleasant one, it is one of his earlier releases, and somewhat different from his later work. I found the music to be soothing and relaxing, perfect after a stressful day at the office. I enjoy being taken away on musical journeys, and cannot imagine a better travelling companion than Mr. Arkenstone. I bought this CD because I am trying to build up as complete a collection of his work as possible, and his earlier releases are getting harder to find, so I was happy to be able to add this to my collection.Read full review

All original sounds like nothing else. Very new-age music. Of all the Arkensone CD's this is the best one! It's also the most upbeat one.
