Ideal as a self-defense weapon, the Spyderco Matriarch 2 knife comes with a serrated blade that is intimidating by its appearance alone. This Spyderco design has a useful curved tip. This design makes the blade perfect for slashing an assailant. This is possible due to the tip that has a thicker construction compared to the remaining length. The C12SBK2 model is also foldable for storage in a bag or pocket if necessary. Its textured design fits comfortably in your hand. The VG-10 stainless steel blade can lock securely into the handle when not in use. However, it releases quickly for timely, much-needed assistance. This is achieved by the inclusion of the Emerson opening feature. This patented technology allows for a quick opening at all times. For added durability, Spyderco Matriarch knives also incorporate steel liners within the grip. These liners keep the knife as sturdy as possible when in use. The handles on these Spyderco Matriarch knives consist of a tough fiberglass reinforced nylon, or FRN, a material is designed specifically to withstand the elements and last a long time. The serrated blade has a length of 3.57 inches, while the grip itself measures around 5 inches, making for an overall length of just over 8.5 inches. One advantage of using this knife is its high portability. At 3.5 ounces in weight, this item can be carried around in your pockets or on your belt without any issues. When using these folding knives, you'll notice the hook on the back of the blades. This hook snags the edge of your pocket right when you draw the knife, so you'll be ready immediately. While these SpyderEdge blades are designed for self-defense, they can be used as kitchen knives or light utility knives. When using them in the kitchen, they are more than sharp enough for cutting sandwich meats and even larger vegetables. You can also use it for such applications like cutting ropes, opening packages, and whittling. This black Spyderco knife has a hollow grind, which makes for a very sharp edge. Maintenance is easy as the Reverse S edge can be readily sharpened in just moments. One of the most useful aspects of the clip with this knife is that it consists of a 4-position design. The 4-way clip is made with screw-together construction. It's also ambidextrous for usage in both hands, so don't hesitate to purchase these knives even if you're left handed. This item has been manufactured in Japan by Spyderco and has a hole diameter of just under 0.5 inches. The knife itself went through regular testing for both quality and durability.
