A Japanese animated movie, "My Neighbor Totoro" makes its way to the United States in this widescreen two-disc set. The movie tells the story of two sisters who are moved to a countryside manor house by their father while their mother is in the hospital. The children spend their time playing in the woods, where they soon meet King Totoro, king of the forest spirits. In "My Neighbor Totoro" the children find protection with the king, who even takes them to see their mother in the hospital whenever they would like. In the English version of this two-disc set, voices are provided by Tim Daly, Dakota Fanning, Elle Famming, and Ila Salonga. The animated movie is directed by Hayao Miyazaki and produced by Studio Ghibli. The "My Neighbor Totoro" two-disc set has a variety of extra features, including lithograph artwork.

It was packed VERY well and a good thing too because the delivery service (can't remember if UPS or USPS) must have dropped the box. One entire edge of the box was smooshed in.     This sweet, charming story is captivating to any age audience but especially very little children! My daughter would watch it over & over again when I would rent it on VHS from our local library “back in the day”. Remembering this, I began searching for it on eBay, to keep the tradition going. I was delighted I found it & so purchased it. When it arrived I wasted no time in showing it to my 2 yr old grand daughter on her next visit, & she was mesmerized almost from the start (me too I might add!) Though she didn’t sit still for the whole thing she kept coming back to it & truly watched most of it by the time it was over.     My neighbor totoro

    Great animated movie to watch with the whole family especially for kids!! The characters are really engaging and there is some drama going on as well(mom is sick at hospital). The family in the story a dad taking care of his two daughters move to a new house out in the countryside where the girls start exploring and the smallest stumbles upon a magical forest where a giant cat like creature sleeps and lives. The girls are the only ones that get to see this creature but the whole little village has knowledge of them too, they just can't see them anymore because they're adults. A lot of adventure and imaginative scenes ensue until they're mother gets well and is leaving the hospital. Very fun to watch at times even emotional but generally very wholesome for the family.

    Amazing!

    Totoro has always been one of my favorite Hayao Miyazaki films and I was so glad I finally got to share this classic with my 3 year old son. He absolutely loved it! I will eventually be adding all of Miyazaki's works to our collection for us all to enjoy. Great for kids and adults :)
