'A new group that debuts with a very, VERY promising disc is the group Goin' Public with their self-titled album on Four Winds Records. Blending jazz and hip hop, they roll smooth on the opening 'Windowpain' ...on the rest of the CD groove runs high for the quartet that is augmented with special guests that include bass clarinetist Bennie Maupin (Herbie Hancock), bassist Alphonso Johnson (Weather Report) and trumpet player Oscar Brashear (Joe Sample).' Scott Galloway, The Urban network 'The music is funky, yes, but it's also trying to tell you something...there are words in the guitar solos, there are screams in the horns, there are gunshots in the drum beats...'
