Pros: Graphics are very detailed, for example the uniforms vary from tight to loose. A loose uniform moves in the wind. Most players look almost exactly like they do in real life. Real rosters can be downloaded for free online. Online play has very few glitches. The whole pitching aspect in the game will not disappoint. I think the pitching aspect is the most creative yet in a baseball game. Fielding is not as frustrating as 2K6 and some plays will leave your mouth open in astonishment. Cons: There is no moving up through A to AA to AAA then finally to the Mlb. I was disappointed with that, because baseball is all about patience and improving. Plus, I enjoy drafting players and seeing their development over the years. Homeruns seem to get robbed by the computer a lot. They also seem to just make it over the fence. I don't know if it is even possible to knock it out of the park? When the ball is hit well it's only 10 to 20 ft away from the fence. When batting it seems that it is easier to hit a home run than any other successful type of hit. Overall: The game is just fun. Online play is great especially if you have friends that challenge you. The game is not perfect and 2K still has improvements to make. They did a good job with graphics and gameplay, it's the extras they need to improve/add (minor leagues, selling merchandise, stadium improvements, create a team, etc.).Read full review
the graphics are amazing. just loooking at derek jeter makes you more excited to play this. The replays have even better graphics. when they show them it looks like they have a camera in the dirt and it looks like the real thing. Fielding and baserunning are the only flaws. sometimes when it comes right to you the guy misses it for no reason. But for the computer they will make amazing catches with horrible people. Baserunning is hard, and annoying to control. Batting and pitching is a lot of fun. rent it an see if you like it...
Im being generous giving it a four. Its the only baseball game on the 360 so if you want MLB your stuck with it. Now that being said its not a bad game, infact its pretty good. But you wont last the 162 games. The game is ridiculsly easy. Even on higher dificulty levels (which become way to hard, not middle ground) it does not matter cause on any level its homerun after homerun, or the cpu robs your homerun every other play, but dont worry you'll a homerun right after that repeat the cycle. If you can play with the sliders enough to make the game perfect for you it can be much more fun. Id reccomend getting it cheaper, like on Ebay, and not getting it full price.
MBL 2k7 is a great baseball game that does almost everything right. Alot of ppl complain about the computer robbing you of homeruns, its too hard to steal bases ect.. but with the adjustable sliders you can make the game play anyway that you want it. Just go in and slow down the outfield runners speed or speed up you players baserunning speed and so on. ( Try these settings at the games website forums then tweak it too your liking. http://2ksports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108883&page=26 ) - also some ppl complain about the swing stick, you can change that too so that you just press (A) button to swing. The game is completely customizable so before players knock the game they should go in and try to make it play the way they want. Overall the graphics are nice even though some players dont look spot, the wind blown cloth effect is a bit over the top and the audio for the anouncers can repeat too often the gameplay is simply too good to knock it for these small things. There is alot of depth with the franchise mode, season, a homerun derby and a GM mode too keep you busy. You can even create players for your team so you can update the game for current team lineups. Overall I highly recommend that people looking for a inexpensive baseball game try MLB 2k7. Just take the time to learn about the sliders and make the adjustments and you will be happy. I give it a 9 out of 10.Read full review
I bought this game because I had played 2k5 and loved it for it's simulation and thought that this one "2k7" would be the same. At first I found the game pretty hard to control especially with the "swing stick", the swing stick is when you use the right stick to bat, you can always use the old hitting button which is the a button. It took some time to get use to this swing stick but after you get the hang of it you finally have all the control. Then comes pitching at first I assumed I was doing it correctly but untill lately I found out that I wasn't which is to pick the pitch your going to trow then pick the location now comes the good part hold the pitch button and a circle will appear how great you hold on to the button will determend how much juice your pitcher will put on the pitch, now the circle will began to close you have to hit the pitching button again right before it closes timed right will cause more accurate pitches. All and all this game is very entertaining and it's graphics look good, if you can just get use to playing it, it will be a blast for anyone!Read full review
MLB 2K7 should keep anyone who is a fan of baseball games entertained for a long time. The game play is good. The commentary is good, but repetitive. The main disgrace to the game is the franchise mode in my opinion. The only control you have over money is the players and coaches contracts and ticket prices. You can't control the price for hot dogs, fingers, hats from the gift shop or anything. This takes away your ability to truly GM the franchise. It is worth the money.
Game has some of the best graphics i have ever played with a baseball game. however, it has way to many flaws in its game play. I owned the game for about 2 weeks and got bored of the bad game play. If you are looking for a great baseball game with great graphics and dont care about the game play, than this would be you game.
Like all baseball games, the computer/A.I, whatever you prefer to call it, is rather dumb and make errors sometimes...on certain ground balls and pop-ups the wrong player is highlighted but once you get used to it and make the adjustment it isn't bad...the worst part about this game is the ease of robbing homeruns...the computer robbed me 9 times in one game, 7 of which were all the left fielder which isn't realistic at all...with that being said, along side of ken griffey baseball for N64, this is the best baseball game for any gaming system thus far...pitching is great, hitting is awesome, homerun derby has a variety of different games, good all-around game though..recommend the buy for sure
I had this for my PSP and was not happy at all, but when I got my Xbox 360 I picked this game up for $11 on eBay and it was well worth it. Game play is smooth and very realistic. Pitching is fun and has some great features like the controller shaking when your pitcher is shook up and the catcher moving around to set up your pitches. Hitting is fun and you can use your joystick or go traditional by using the a button. Overall I'm very happy with the game and you can pick it up pretty cheap too.
This Game Has everything! the batting modes are awesome. dont like the swing stick go to options change it to A. Replays are amazing like when turning a double play the camera is right there! Even when u argue the coaches look great.Graphics are the best i have ever seen. Great Announcing. Yes the catches will get u very mad . but there amazing :)
