Great tool for the right job.
I have several Schrade knives along the same series and design spanning about six year models. This model is a few years old which in this case is a very good thing. I believe the quality of the Schrade knives has gone down a bit in recent times. I purchased this knife with a particular task in mind.....'cleaning' bamboo. The SCHF28 came in pretty sharp and it works great. Handle is relatively comfortable with a few hotspots that can be remedied with some grip tape if you are doing a lot of knife work. The balance is great for chopping and the blade shape works perfectly for my application. I also thought the sheath was substantially nicer than the sheaths that come with the most newer Schrade knives. Awesome knife
Got my knife a couple of days ago so haven’t had chance to put it to the test, but on first inspection it’s so we’ll built. The blade is sharp from the outset. All in all, a great product.

Good surprise, very under estimated knife
Wasn't expecting such a fantastic knife. Came very sharp, it takes an edge easily and holds it. It chops through the big stuff w ease but can do the fine stuff just as well. I've beaten it up and it still looks new. 1 thing, it Will chip I'd you hit rocks or concrete so be careful. But so far, there has been no wood I haven't been able to tackle w this knife. I do recommend the one w the hole in the finger guard as it is much more secure w paracord from finger guard to rear lanyard hole, which also gives a lot of extra chopping power. Lil' Ricky ain't that little...
Great knife, with a nice sheath included. Very sharp our of the package. The blade is thick and hefty with a full tang and a nice grippy handle. The knife is easily robust enough to handle anything that you might throw it's way. It would also be pretty intimidating, should you find yourself in a selfself-defense situation. I would absolutely recommend this blade.

It s a very solid knife, it’s a bit on the heavy side but that’s because it’s a huge ass knife, I didn’t look at the specs before I bough it but it’s still a great knife to chop down redwood trees with and attack elephants, if you’re into that kinda thing.
