Quick and easy fix
My 18 year old generator runs like a top but was low on output voltage. An inexpensive set of brushes and rectifier solved the problem. My old brushes didn't look worn but I was only getting 80 volts from the 110 side and 160 volts from the 220 side. For $30 I figured I'd take a gamble and won. 15 minutes for removal and installation.
