This is a much older machine. It takes both Brother brand flash memory cards and 3.5" floppy disks. Yes the floppies are old school but I really dig using them. This machine stitches really well, has a decent sized display screen and does allow for a 6"x10" max sized hoop which I do appreciate. I do have newer machines as well but I'm truly enjoying the use of this older Brother machine.

It runs great and no problems was a little disappointed at fires as there was a line down the side and the grid was gone but think that might have happened durning shipping other wise every thing so far is working good already had one just like it and really likes it does fill in a little better than this one but it does better the more you sew

I love my machine, or did. It is so easy to use and embroiders so beautifully. Unfortunately, the arm unit is not working properly and giving me a major headache. I took it to two repair shops and was told they are discontinuing parts for it so I am unable to get my machine repaired.... totally disappointed in Brother for not keeping parts stocked for a 13 year old machine!!! If parts were still available I would give it a 5 star rating!

I have had this same model for almost 15 years and while it was a great machine at the time, it is now seriously out-of-date. For example, it uses a floppy disk & there are no USB ports. When is the last time you used a floppy disk? And while the antiquated technology may work, it is slow to transfer designs and has very limited storage capability. If it's true that Brother no longer makes parts for this model, the asking price seems high for something that is on borrowed time. I realize the price is attractive compared to the $9000.00 machines you see today but it seems hard to justify spending almost $1000 (including shipping) to buy something so out-of-date. It is for this reason that gave it a "no" on being a good value.
