SynopsisA series of books on the history, organization, appearance and equipment of famous fighting men of the past and present, and on other aspects of military history which demand fuller and more flexible coverage than appropriate within our established Men-at-Arms series., Osprey's survey of the Soviet Army during the Cold War period (1946-1991). For a young Soviet man in the 1980s, the chances were high that he would be obliged to serve for at least two years in the Soviet Armed Forces. At this time Soviet society was far more militarized than most other European countries; by the time they turned 18, most Soviet boys were far more familiar with military life than their Western European and American counterparts. Focusing on the daily experiences of a young recruit in the Soviet Army of the late 1980s, this book examines the history, organization, appearance and equipment of the Soviet forces, from pre-service indoctrination to uniforms and leadership.

  • the book has the info I required

The book was in great shape until the mailman shoved it into my mailboc (which is samaller than the lenght of the book. Now I have a great brand new book that has a folding line because the sender did not put a FRAGILE DO NOT BEND sign on the package. Without the crease the book would be a great book. Please put signs FRAGILE DO NOT BEND in the outside of packages.
