Part strategy, part action, Kingdom Crusade is an Archon-like fantasy game that involves two factions battling to control territory on an overhead map. The map is a customizable grid, with individual squares indicating one of four possible terrain types: plains, mountains, forest, and castle courtyards. Selecting a square to conquer automatically shifts the perspective to a close-up view for a real-time, one-on-one fight. Units under your control include a king, queen, wizard, knight, paladin, bowman, and giant. Each crusader has certain strengths and weaknesses to exploit, and the terrain can influence fighting tactics as well. There are two paths to victory in the game: capture all of your rival's castles or eliminate its entire army. Select from three different map sizes before beginning a game, each of which is randomly generated. You can also play against two computer AI settings, or challenge a friend via Game Link Cable.
