big n bulky?
I have the auto version of the 06 n both are slow opening but the assisted one sounds tinny when it deploys but works well. can't find where it's made but it works well. may b a little bulky for edc but at least it can get the job done.

Gerber 06 first in segment.
There are countless better knives; and there are good knives that cost less. But the Gerber 06 FAST is undoubtedly the best knife in the small, $35 to $55 class. I got mine, new in clam pack, for $34 shipped. Fit and finish are excellent; function of the blade opening and the locking mechanism are smooth and reliable. Materials may not be "cutting edge", but they are very good; If you want a modern super-steel, you will pay a lot more for it. This is by far the best 'cheap" knife I have ever used. Furthermore, I got a deal on several 06 Automatics several years ago, and I like the FAST version better.
