    Wish they still made it

    An extremely good radio, hard to find but good. It runs on just one AA battery for many many hours. One battery lasted for months running hours per day! I also has local/distant settings so even in basement I get good reception. Have not tried it in north woods, that will be ultimate test!

    Out of production model not like they used to be

    I loved my previous Sony Walkmans so I thought I'd try another even though they have been out of production for a while. Maybe it is because this one has been sitting on a shelf for a number of months, but I find that the reception for the channels I want is less than favorable.

    SONY WALKMAN RADIO

    I HAVE HAD 4 OF THESE, AM RECEPTION IS GOOD, EASY TO USE, THE ON/OFF SWITCH IS THE WEAK PART. IT TENDS TO WEAR OUT AND LOSE POWER CONTACT. A LITTLE WEAK ON FM RECEPTION UNLESS YOU DON'T MOVE AROUND. HOWEVER, A GOOD PRODUCT FOR A $20 RADIO.

    Great bedside DX machine

    I received my radio today and promptly put a battery in to try it out, and it works so far. It's probably too early for honest assessment but I assume it should work out as there doesn't seem like there is not much to go wrong. These are great radios to have by the bed for nighttime DXING.

    Revised SRF-59 version

    This version of the SRF-59 has a mono / stereo switch for FM, like some other radios. It is very sensitive on AM, and locks in on FM stations ( no tuning past the frequency you want ). The colours are great too, unlike its silver and blue version. Some minor ghost signals from other ( powerful ) FM stations can be heard at times, considering my location ( near several FM stations ). Overall, a great radio. This radio could reintroduce Americans to radio listening, if only more stores sold it. Again, great radio. Danke! Thank you. Grazie. Merci vous!
