    Onkyo TX-NR555

    This unit has plenty of power. The directions and diagrams for hook up in the written manual are above average in understanding what goes into what. On screen directions take a little while to understand and navigate, but after a short learning curve, even the non geek technical person such as myself will feel comfortable. The unit is built well and the overall quality is excellent. The only reason I have given it 4 stars instead of 5 is because as is typical of Onkyo units, bass response and projection is anemic. Purchasing an aftermarket powered subwoofer will solve the bass problem, but I wish after all these years of production Onkyo engineers would give bass lovers something to listen to. Other than that, this unit is top notch and reasonably priced in consideration of all the nice ...

    Great quality for the price

    At $260, this is a great value with excellent quality, high number of inputs 6HDMI with 4K passthrough capability. DTS-X and Dolby Atmos capable. One thing to note about the receiver is that it is excellent for small-medium sized rooms. I think a room larger than 12 x 20 would need to crank more power through the receiver to fill the space which may increase distortion and potential speaker damage.

    Good Price

    Receiver was reasonably priced, easy to setup and produces good quality sound. I have used another manufacturer's receiver for over 20 years which provided excellent service. I've had this receiver for a couple of weeks and have no complaints. Only time will tell if it will be dependable.

    Glad I got it!

    My old dying receiver was just ok, it fulfilled its purpose. I was planning to find a cheap replacement but decided to go with more connections for a home theater setup. This Onkyo had all that was needed including old fashioned phono preamp and modern tech for 4k hookup. But what really pleases me is the wonderful sound it produces. This was a best deal. It arrived quickly and well packaged, couldn't be more pleased with a purchase.
