Pros The Roomba itself is fairly quiet Does well on the hard wood floors Don't have to manually empty dust bin on vacuum Looks good App is pretty easy to use Alexa integration works well Cons Doesnt do well with dog hair on an area rug - bunches it up but cant get it removed from the surface of the rug. the dog has pretty fine hair so not a big con as my dyson and shark uprights have had issues with that rug/dog combo as well. This one is super annoying and caused me to adjust when I let the roomba clean. The empty function is extremely loud. I would not want this going off at night. Since I work from home and am on calls a lot this is also limits the time I can have it run. Other than that I am happy with my purchase after 2 weeks of use. I think battery needs replacement and mapping system needs improvement
Still trying to get it to work properly. Every time so far it quits much earlier than it is supposed to do so. Has not yet mapped all of the rooms completely. Dont know how to add new portions of map to toal and dont kn ow how to get it to charge suffieciently to work for 85 or 90 minutes. Ease of use with great features
I do love the iRobot Roomba, I kind of feel that I have a maid to do the dirty work for me, especially I am allergic to dust. After setting up the App, the mapping and the schedule to vacuum, I don't need to vacuum the floor myself again. Seems To work Great So Far it's a lot Quieter then my old Roomba. Only had it for a few days so only time will tell how long it will last. it was missing the side brush when i got it. so i had to call i robot and they send a new one for free. it would have been nice if they gave you an extra bag so you can put it in when the other one gets full. it was a good price compared to how much it cost new. other then that there's not much else to say about itVerified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

I bought a refurbished self emptying irobot vacuum. I have two dogs and this vacuum keeps my head above water. I absolutely love it and couldn't live without it. I've had a irobot vacuum for many years already, but this is the first self-emptying vacuum I've had. Love my Roomba j7!!!
A friend bought me an iHome robot vacuum for Christmas and it was terrible, it never went home, it bumped into walls trying to find home, would run out of battery and would never make it home, it really never mapped, and the last straw was the app deleted the robot without cause. My friend was very excited to get this for me, so I did not have the nerve to tell him it was terrible. So, I sold it to a friend with a small one room apartment and bought this Roomba j7 vacuum. I never told him I did this so he wouldn't feel bad. This Roomba is amazing, it maps very well and zones rooms. The programing is very easy, and you can schedule it to vacuum at any time you want, it also can do only certain rooms if you want, or high traffic areas that get extra dirty all the time. I have a den that has about a 2-inch step down and two times Roomba went into the room and could not get out, so I was able to put a "no go zone" and since then it does not try to vacuum that room. If you schedule a vacuuming and it runs low on battery it will go home to recharge, pause job and then resumes where it left off, totally finishing the job. It has not once got caught up on cords or any other things that could be a problem. When it goes home, each time it self-empties into a disposable bag in charging station. I have had two robot vacuums, one an early model and it was terrible then the one my friend bought me, now this Rumba j7. This is the best one, with little to no problem yet. I bought this Rumba from Ebay, it is refurbished through Roomba and direct through Roomba, so I have all the customer support, came with a 2-year warranty and I saved hundreds of dollars. I highly recommend buying this vacuum and I suggest buying a refurbished through Roomba on Ebay. It's worth it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

My refurbished Roomba was as good as new.
The difference between the Roomba of a decade ago and the new models is night and day. Setup included mapping the rooms in the house, where it spent an hour going around and finding all the places it could go. I was amazed at how well it performed this task, even going as far as identifying the type of room accurately (kind of spooky how well it did) I did some minor adjustments to the divisions between rooms, and adjusted a few room names and it is set up to go. I made a daily task to have it clean the kitchen and dining room, and it handles that great. When the time comes, it just moves itself into the dining room and goes to work. When it is done with any task, it goes back to it's home base and empties itself out. I was a bit worried getting a refurbished unit, but was glad that it came with a short manufacturer warranty. It came in generic packaging with only a small intro sheet telling us to use the App to set up the Roomba. Despite being "used" there were no scratches on the device, and it was clean, charged, and ready to go. Package arrived in great condition. Unit is refurbished but looks brand new. Setting it up wasn’t as easy as I had hoped. Called iRobot’s technical support and they couldn’t get it to connect. However, I finally got it connected and the vacuum works great. The first cleaning took about 1 1/2 hours and you could tell it was learning my home’s layout. I set mine to 9 am so it cleaned again this morning and did a great job.

Cleans up well.
The vacuum has worked well (only used it a few times so far). It is pretty thorough - it eventually works into corners and around chairs and under tables-anywhere there is clearance for it. It has vacuumed rugs of varying thickness with no real problems (sometimes it takes a few tries to get up and onto a rug).
