      Great replacement

      I have had a heating pad just like this one for 25 years. When it quit working I was so glad I was able to find a replacement exactly like my old one. Very good product. Especially like the control feature.

      Disappointing Changes In The Product

      My first Thermophore heating pad was purchased about 30 years ago! The current heating pad does not quite compare in quality. The switch is not as heavy duty as it might be for a hold-until-you-fall-asleep switch. It is not as heavy duty as my old heating pad. The cover for the unit is also lower in quality. My old heating pad had a wonderful, thick, machine washable cover. The cover for the new pad is much thinner and not nearly as plush. Neither is my original size available, which was also disappointing. Why the downgrade in quality? The cost of the unit should guarantee the best quality all around. For these reasons, Since the company has downgraded the quality, I am downgrading my opinion of the product.

      May need 2

      I bought a large Battle Creek heating pad over 15 years ago after back surgery and still engoy using it. I needed another because my wife keeps stealing mine. These are not your typical heating pads. I’ll admit the older one seems to be made slightly better, the stitching and the weight etc. The biggest problem with the new one is the giant warning labels on both the heater and the cover. About 6”x8” sewn in the center. I plan to remove it from the cover because who wants the label against you skin. These may cost a little more than a cheesy heat pad but definitely worth it.

      Did not like controller

      I love the Battle Creek heat pack I already have. This new one I did not like the controller because I could not set heat settings and I had to keep my hand on the controller at all times or it would stop heating. I would recommend it with a warning.

      Well made and heats up fast

      Great heating pad, It's large enough to cover the whole back area and heats up very quickly. My only slight complaint is that you have to keep depressing the button to keep it on. I know that is a safety measure, but it's a nuisance. I have figured out a way to jimmy the button so it stays on, but it does get very hot, so be careful.
