I am 63 and take per Dr. Metamucil, but I hate the taste of it, so I get the capsules. I have taken 5 capsules 1 or 2 times a day with 1 capful of Miralax in juice. That keeps me going everyday with no problems. I don't want to wear a bag on my side, so I do what the doctor says, as my colonoscopy had a diverticulosis. That is different that diverticulitis, as itis is the irritation of the colon, and losis is the beginning of a bad thing that can happen if I don't change. I have pockets in my colon, but not compacted or irritated as long as I take care of myself. Don't get where I am or worse. Keep yourself regular and not constipated.
