    Great mp, Great Value Amp

    For the money, it has great sound and provides a terrific set of inputs and listening options. Easy to set up, took five minutes at most. Powers my speakers well, with both bass and treble coming through cleanly. The remote provides a lot of tools and help to make programming easy. Note: It a two channel system, so would not be suitable for surround sound use.

    i purchased this unit for my shop to replace a sx780 pioneer from the 70's that finally bit the dust. if you want something to make noise this does it but the bass output with the bass all the way up is almost none compared to the pioneer of yester years and rated at 100 watts per channel yea maybe with a rocket launcher. it does the job but on friday eve after a few beers and me and the gang really won't to rock out well the ol pioneer would blow the windows out this insignia needs a rocket launcher as it will not kick the living hell outta my old 70's klipsch heresy's no bass worth a crap.. i have a teac ad-800 cd cassette usb combo connected a pricey unit but love it,, a pioneer h-r 99 8 track friggin deck oh heck ye we jam some old 8 tracks too boston, the eagles, zz top, forigner, ...

    Stylish and Wireless too

    Unit has many features and Bluetooth wireless, Front panel input for mp3 player. Treble and Bass adjustable from remote control. Does not have a Phono input, Also unable to label input devices. Unit does not display info from Bluetooth device or FM station info. One major problem is FM squelch is too high (not adjustable either) & unable to save FM preset unsquelched & in Mono for weak stations. This not good for areas with weak FM reception. Every time you change preset to weak station it requires pushing the mono button to hear weak stations. Other receivers do not have this problem. Their presets remember squelch & Mono setting. Other than that a good sounding receiver with many inputs.

    If you needed a receiver to put in a garage or add music to another room of the house look no further. My overall impression of this unit was good. It is the first "Insignia Brand" electronic I have bought. Usually I steer clear of "house" brands for reliability reasons but I thought for the price I'd give this one a shot. Its a clean sleek looking "no frills" piece of equipment. Most of the functions are able to be changed with the buttons on the front but you really need the remote, so don't loose it. It's display is dimmable (can even be shut off). It will support 2 pairs of speakers to be powered simultaneously There is a switch for speaker pair "A" or "B".     200 watt insignia NS STR514

    The sound is amazing for the price. Bluetooth has decent range. I was disappointed that there was no pre out on this model. My old one had preouts. I have it set up with a 4 ohm load. Works fine. Just have to make sure it doesn't overheat. When I'm going to jam pretty loud for a long time I point a fan at it.
