Keep them on hand.
I don't know how often one of these A4988's go out, but I do know that your printer does not work when it does. My AnyCubic Kossel had one of them go out on the Z axis and I was down. It was covered by warranty but I have still not received the parts and it has been over 2 weeks. I got 2 sets of 5 for around $15 and it only too 2 days. Easy to use. Similar to to easy driver but program is much simpler. Not suitable for stepper motors draining more than 1A. It gets really hot.

I'm glad I bought it. Too bad it's not made in USA.
Came from CHINA by DHL to a place in GA where it was switched to US Mail. This way it appeared as shipped from US. Works immediately out of the box. Make sure you plug in the socket with the correct orientation. The stepper motors run pretty smooth when the micro-stepping is set to smallest step.
