They looked quite used, but it is normal since these are not being made anymore and salvaged from older computers. I just cleaned them up with some 99% isopropanol, added a couple drops of DeoxIt and the contacts cleaned up pretty well. The price was right for these sticks, and I want to thank the seller for keeping these items in stock.
