Easy to Love: Rouge - An Amazing Sweet Floral at An Amazing Sweet Price
Being asked by eBay to write a review is indeed something exciting for me, especially for a product like this! I forget what the exact purchase date was and it is not easy to guess by looking at the bottle of perfume. Essentially, this perfume, in my very humble opinion, is not just wonderful, it is a beautiful and amazing scent! I originally was introduced to Christian Lacroix's Rouge Parfum when it was given to me as a birthday present in October, 2011. This is a very easy perfume to fall in love with and I used it quickly, almost every day to be exact. Now, when the perfume bottle started to spit and sputter out, it was almost a crisis for me! Finally a friend of mine suggested looking on eBay to try and find more of this precious commodity. (Well, yes - I am a bit dramatic...) ... Being asked by eBay to write a review is indeed something exciting for me, especially for a product like this! I forget what the exact purchase date was and it is not easy to guess by looking at the bottle of perfume. Essentially, this perfume, in my very humble opinion, is not just wonderful, it is a beautiful and amazing scent! I originally was introduced to Christian Lacroix's Rouge Parfum when it was given to me as a birthday present in October, 2011. But of course this is eBay we are talking about. And voila! My Avon Christian Lacroix Rouge perfume. At 1.7 ounces, one absolutely is getting their money's worth. As a perfume connoisseur since the tender age of 13, I have definite likes and dislikes. To put it simply, I know what I like, and 'Rouge' is a keeper! While I often wonder where the perfume names come from, 'Rouge' is easy to remember on the merits of the product. No, it doesn't smell 'red' - 'Rouge' of course meaning red in French. I oftentimes don't bother buying perfumes, because they seem to all be a bit too 'heavy' on one's nose. So, for the last few years, I have been staying mostly with Eau de Toilette's or the many body mists and body sprays. I had almost given up on perfumes in favor of the light, crisp florals that abound everywhere, and for low prices. However, this wonderful Christian Lacroix fragrance was a delightful surprise. Not heavy, not overly floral or sweet, but just the right blend of ingredients that while being a sweet floral, 'Rouge' is just the perfect balance. Not easy to do, I can imagine. I absolutely love that this fragrance is reminiscent of walking outside among many different flowers, each contributors to a swirl of a delicious unique floral scent. The first moments of experiencing 'Rouge' are deceptive. The fragrance does seem somewhat over-powering and even far too thick and dense to be enjoyed. But the age-old advice to wait a bit after applying a fragrance is the key to the success of 'Rouge'. Be patient with 'Rouge' is my advice! Five or ten minutes after application, I can't see how one can't fall in love with 'Rouge'. That first burst of fragrance simply means that 'Rouge' will last throughout most of your day. If that isn't something worth celebrating, well...it is. After writing so much about my 'Rouge' experience, I checked my bottle again. (By the way, it is a beautiful bottle!) I do have about one third left, but I want to be careful and be prepared. Another purchase is around the bend.
