Jack Crabb (Dustin Hoffman), a 121-year-old Indian living in a rest home, relates his incredible life experiences. According to Crabb's somewhat fanciful tales, he was raised by the Cheyenne from the age of 10 only to be seized by whites when he was 15. He then embarks on a string of failed attempts to find a place for himself in the world. These bring him into contact with (among many others) Wild Bill Hickok, the US Cavalry, a former preacher's wife-turned-prostitute, his own spunky frontierswoman sister, and General George Armstrong Custer during the Battle of Little Big Horn. The result is a funny, spiritual film with a humane view of the plight of Native Americans.

great title, fits the movie
dustin huffman, plays the roles great, I think one of the all time great movies, i feel that the movie was a story of love, of always returning to his family(the human beings) a supurb story.

Dustin Hoffman's best. I say that about many of his movies. This may be his best western then. The story gives us a view of American history that is quite believable. Also a view of a few different types of people and the consequences of their choices of lifestyle. The action never stops...from one segment to the next there is never a dull moment in this CLASSIC Hoffman film. Hoffman is truly Little Big Man.Dustin Hoffman's best. I say that about many of his movies. This may be his best western then. The story gives us a view of American history that is quite believable. Also a view of a few different types of people and the consequences of their choices of lifestyle. The action never stops...from one segment to the next there is never a dull moment in this CLASSIC Hoffman film. Hoffman is truly Little Big Man.

timely delivery, good condition, excellent movie
Love the comedy and historical accuracy. History done with tongue in cheek. Dustin Hoffman is magnificent, obviously having a ball making this movie. It was done with sensitivity for Native Americans and their culture. Character development was very good, and they were all identifiable with contemporaries.

I bought this movie for my son because I loved it and he is a big fan of Dustin Hoffman, as well. It is an awsome movie and shows Hoffman's acting ability to it's fullest. The directing was a plus as the story is told through several generations. The comedy is pulled off only by Hoffman's ability.

Still very good. We hold on to stereotypes till the buffalo come home, so it's till quite relevant. I hope the portrayal of Native women was just a male chauvenist's point of view, though.
