Product Information

Action gamers head back to the future -- to save it from another alien invasion -- in Neo Contra. The series' stalwart hero Bill Rizer returns to action, joined by new character Genbei Jaguer Yaguy, a mysterious samurai warrior with a distinctly different fighting style. The biggest change of all, however, may be the game's perspective; unlike its numerous side-scrolling shooter forebears, Neo Contra offers an angled, top-down perspective on its alien-ridden 3D environments. Neo Contra was developed by the same Konami Tokyo team that crafted the PS2's previous latter-day Contra game, Shattered Soldier.

    NEO CONTRA

    This is a great game for playstation 2.It is action packed,and the graphics,are great.It is really fun,to play 2 player mode.Anyone familiar with the contra series will know this is a shooting game.Or run and gun,if you prefer.Anyway I enjoyed this game very much.My only complaint is that it is a tad short.However the replay value is high.Even after you beat it,you can still replay the missions to get higher rankings.There is also several endings,and unlockable levels depending on how well you play.Overall I would reccommend this game to anyone who enjoys action games.

    Awesome Game Though Not For All Contra Fans

    Neo Contra is a great game for a quick round of explosive action. Though there are initially only 4 levels to play, earning higher rankings in each level through the hit rating system unlocks the last 3 levels, with 3 associated different endings. Though many consider this a short game compared to previous Contra releases in the series (and also much easier to beat), the game isn't about finishing the 7 levels, rather, the goal is to get as high a ranking as possible. This is done by avoiding death (each death subtracts 1%), not using continues, and destroying all non-infinite enemies. High rankings in turn unlock new costumes/characters to play and other bonuses. The weapon system is different than previous Contras as well; now the player has the option to choose a weapon set ...
