We opened an inquiry with AEM immediately following the buyer's complaint. AEM's warranty department is sending a replacement pipe adapter, buyer thinks the part was left out purposely. We've been in constant communication with him on a daily basis, but buyer is unwilling to be patient while we get this resolved.

    Acerbis 5.8 gal for Honda XR650L

    The Acerbis 5.8 gal tank arrived faster than estimated. It fits my 2009 Honda XR650L. Raise the turn signals up 1 hole to prevent it hitting the tank (use a spacer for each bolt).The tank has to be warmed up, by sun or other method to be more pliable and in order to widen the gap in order to fit. Thus they recommend 2 people to basically pull it wider. I did it by myself with heat and patience. No need to remove parts or alter the bike. Once fitted it comes off and on without force. I also used a brass T-piece and regular fuel hose instead of the supplied parts although they do work.

    Acerbis tank fit is poor

    The tank fits horrible. You will have to grind the voltage regulator fins off. The frame will have to be ground down where the factory rubber mounts are. All brackets will need to be modified. You will also have to spread the tank and contort it to make it get low enough to work. When you are done and think you have done a good job... the handle bars and blinkers will hit the tank and only allow 50% of the turning. Do not recommend.

    Buy it!!!!

    Great tank!!! It'll fit other makes and models as well just with some basic fabrication skills. Gets rid of that ugly metal tank that costs a fortune to replace or repair. It is a bit heavier once full of fuel but if your looking for more range to get deeper and darker into the woods your obviously not a pussy So buy one, slap it on your rig, and get to pounding that shit. Also it fits all years XR not just 93-96 so don't get on TT or your local FB dual sport page to start a new thread asking if this cheep eBay tank will fit your bike. It is the same tank that others sell for hundreds more just get it

    Great Tank

    This tank is much larger and more rugged than the original metal tank. Installation is a bit challenging but fit and finish is perfect. It comes with 2 petcocks, one for each side, giving you 2 reserves, but you probably wont need them cause , even with the red, you can see the fuel level through the tank...nice

    Tank fits tight like you want it and feels like the stock one when sitting on the bike. Should be good when i go on long rides thanks looks great on the bike
