Product Information

Popful Mail is a side-scrolling platform game that was initially developed for the NEC PC-8801 and released for Sega CD in 1994. The game contains elements from role-playing games by allowing players to interact with other characters and change their character's equipment and attributes. Players start with Mail, but they gain access to Tatt and Graw, as they progress. They are able to switch characters at any time through the menu, which allows them to utilize unique running and jumping abilities. The story was updated from the original game and contains additional dialogue that adds to the sense of humor built into the game, making it enjoyable for fans of entertaining action games.

    An RPG with a platforming twist!

    What do you get when you combine an action rpg with a platformer. You get the outstanding Working Design's rpg Popful Mail. The meat of the game is a very well-executed platformer, where you'll guide Mail, a devoted bounty hunter, around level after level defeating enemies and collecting gold and special items. To keep things interesting, the game also throws in just enough rpg elements to round out this unique hybrid. The game also features almost 3 full hours of voiced dialogue and 20+ minutes of cinemas to help the story unfold. You might think that since the game tries to fit into two different genres at once that one side might suffer because of it, but you'd be wrong. As spot-on as the control in the platforming portions of the game are, the rpg elements are just as well done. If you ...

    RPG Side Scroller?

    As one of the rarest Sega CD games out there, this one ranks pretty good in my book. Popful Mail is full a unique gameplay and the music is pretty addictive as well. The art is pretty nice and there are hours of audio video clips throughout the game. The main character Popful Mail can get annoying at times but by the middle of the game you'll learn to love her introduction "My name is Mail Popful Mail!" All in All this one is worth picking up especially if your a game collector.

    Popful Mail Must have!

    Popful Mail for the Sega CD is a must have addition to any collection. If you are a fan of cartoon type rpgs then this is the holy grail. Over 2 hours of spoken dialogue. Plenty of FMVs', multiple character control, and a outstanding story line to boot. Game play is a side scroller with no tricky controller configurations. Plenty of hidden items, and bonus beat this game in a certain number of hours see a hidden ending!!
